As our province works to address ongoing healthcare wait times and workforce capacity pressures, PAs are a practical, proven part of the solution. Help us keep the positive momentum going by inviting your local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Member of Parliament (MP) to our upcoming PA Advocacy Day.
Improving Access to Care
PAs act as a force multiplier for Alberta’s frontline healthcare teams. By treating patients, prescribing medications, and assisting in surgeries, PAs directly help reduce wait times across the province.
Building the Future in Alberta
Momentum is building! With the launch of the new Physician Assistant program at the University of Calgary, we are proudly training the next generation of highly skilled PAs right here at home.
Maximizing Team Capacity
PAs help reduce health care workforce burnout. Adding just one PA to an Alberta primary care team has the potential to safely increase a physician’s patient roster by at least 500.
